Coinciding with the launch of Beacon Collaborative’s report on ‘The UK as a Centre of Excellence for International Philanthropists and Social Investors’, John Studzinski speaks to The Times about why honours awarded for philanthropy have halved in five years.
“John Studzinski, a financier whose Genesis Foundation has given £20 million to the creative industries, said that the honours system should “celebrate” philanthropists. He said that the Charity Commission and Treasury should be “more accessible to international donors”, adding: “Philanthropy is a bit like patience and humility. It should be part of our cultural demeanour.”
